Using Cypher Card at MR.DIY for Another Web3 Win

On my recent trip to MR.DIY Sungai Wang, I decided to test out my Cypher virtual card again. This time, I wasn’t buying fast food but picking up some essentials like WD-40 spray and a Glade air freshener.

The total came to RM44.90, and I paid using my Cypher card at the self-checkout. Just tap and go. It worked perfectly, just like any other Visa card.

What’s MR.DIY?

For those unfamiliar, MR.DIY is Malaysia’s leading home improvement retailer with more than 1,300 outlets across the country. The brand also operates MR.DOLLAR and MR.TOY, and has expanded into Brunei as well. On top of that, MR.DIY is the official master franchisee of the EMTOP tool brand in Malaysia. Whether you’re shopping for hardware, toys, or household items, this store has pretty much everything.

What Happened After Checkout?

After the transaction, I received the final charge in my Cypher wallet:

🧾 USD $10.82 (based on the live Visa exchange rate at the time)

That works out to around RM4.15 per USD, with no hidden charges or extra fees. Everything was smooth, quick, and fully transparent.

Why This Matters

It might just be a small purchase, but here’s why it’s important:

Cypher card is accepted in local retail stores like MR.DIY
✅ You don’t need to convert crypto manually
✅ Web3 is no longer just digital. It’s now part of our everyday spending

From fried chicken to WD-40, Cypher makes crypto spending in Malaysia a real experience. This is exactly the kind of small step that shows how Web3 is becoming part of daily life.
