I recently signed up for the Cypher Card, a Visa card linked to your crypto holdings that lets you pay with digital assets anytime, anywhere. In Malaysia, the Standard card offers a daily spending limit of over RM 200,000, which is perfect for everything from your morning kopi to large purchases.
How I Got Started
Sign-Up and KYC I clicked “Get My Card” on Cypher’s site, completed the identity verification within minutes, and received my virtual card immediately in the Cypher app.
Ordering the Metal Card I chose the physical metal card and paid the US$50 shipping fee on 8th May. It arrived via FedEx on 26th May in secure packaging, totaling 25 days in transit from California, US, to Malaysia.
Loading Crypto Cypher supports over 500 tokens across more than 25 blockchains. I transferred USDC from my MetaMask wallet and the funds appeared instantly thanks to Cypher’s off-ramp feature.
Spending with Ease I added the virtual card to Apple Pay and Google Pay. I used it to buy lunch at my favorite nasi lemak stall and to pay a utility bill using the built-in bill-pay feature—no extra conversion steps required.
Key Features for Malaysians
RM 200,000+ daily limit on the Standard card, and RM 900,000+ daily limit on the Premium card (enough to swipe for a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, or even a property) for an additional US $199 annual fee.

Issue I Faced on First Use
At first, I thought the card would work instantly without any extra steps. When I tried to pay for lunch at Yat Pan Dim Sum in Setia Alam, the transaction was rejected. It turned out the card wasn’t activated yet. I had to go home and complete the activation process in the Cypher app before I could use it.
You can refer to the step-by-step screenshots below for activating your card once you receive it.
Later, I was able to use the Crypto card at NOBUNAGA (信長), a Japanese restaurant near Hartamas Shopping Centre in Malaysia.
For anyone in Malaysia looking to turn crypto into everyday spending power, Cypher makes it simple and secure.
