During the night, I finally had the chance to try out my Cypher Crypto Card after activating it earlier in the evening. I chose to test it at NOBUNAGA (信長), a cozy Japanese restaurant located near Hartamas Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
NOBUNAGA is known for its authentic Japanese flavors and welcoming, traditional setting. Their sushi and donburi bowls are always satisfying, and I was curious to see how smoothly I could pay using my Cypher crypto card.

When I arrived, the restaurant was busy with many Japanese diners.
I asked the waitress which menu items weren’t eligible for the 50% promotion, and she confirmed that most dishes were included in the offer.
I ordered the salmon don set along with cold green tea. The food arrived within 15 minutes.
It was fresh, but the portion was smaller than expected, so I added a side of fresh salmon sashimi to balance out the rice.
Still feeling a bit hungry, I ordered the five-piece yakitori moriawase.
The taste was slightly salty for my liking, but overall, everything was delicious.
Then came the moment of truth: paying with crypto.
At the counter, I handed over my Cypher card. The transaction went through without a hitch, just like any normal Visa payment. On the Cypher app, I saw an instant notification showing the crypto had been converted into ringgit, with the transaction completed in just a few seconds.
The total bill was RM57.40, which converted to around $13.85 USD.
